Louisa Boyd is a multidisciplinary artist who works in paint, print and sculpture. Her pieces are held in public and private collections worldwide and she is recognised regularly through prestigious juried exhibitions, showing on a number of occasions at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair. In 2023, Louisa's work was featured as part of London Art Fair's Encounters (previously their project spaces) and she was invited to show at Just Like Escher at Escher in the Palace in the Netherlands. She was awarded the Great Art Prize at the Flourish Award Exhibition 2020 and a scholarship from the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust (QEST) in 2023 to develop her printmaking practice.
Louisa's work centres around the persistent human desire to belong within the natural world. She considers environment and how we navigate place in her pieces. Her work features celestial symbols, sacred geometry, natural landmarks and map-like imagery to describe a sense of belonging.
