One of the world’s greatest music photographers Scarlet Page is to appear at this year’s Manchester Art Fair (November 15-17) where she will provide an exclusive insight into her work with some of the greatest music acts ever celebrated.

Having grown up in the music industry alongside her father, Led Zeppelin guitarist, Jimmy Page, the British photographer is no stranger to life on the road, and travelled America with The Smashing Pumpkins, The Beastie Boys, and the other acts on the Lollapalooza tour of 1994.

It was the following year, when Page had a shot feature in the album artwork of The Verve’s ‘A Northern Soul’, that her career rocketed and saw her go on to shoot some of the biggest names of recent times including Robbie Williams, Lady Gaga, The Rolling Stones, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Stereophonics, the Foo Fighters, and Oasis.

Now, in a Northern first, her work, which has featured in the pages of Kerrang!, Rolling Stone, The Guardian, Mojo, The Times and many more publications, will be available to see exclusively at Manchester Art Fair this November 15-17, where she will also lead an artist talk (November 16, from 13.00 to 13.45).

Presented by The Art Hound Gallery, a gallery dedicated to featuring the most exciting works and artists from the current art scene, and with a focus on all things POP, Page will unveil a number of exclusive fine art photographs for sale.  Expect to see her iconic stills of Amy Winehouse on stage in Camden in the artist’s prime, Keith Richards puffing on a cigarette backstage, and Bowie singing into the microphone.

Also available to see will be a selection of carefully curated and completely unseen new releases, including Courtney Love, Lady Gaga, and Public Enemy, alongside original works produced by Page in collaboration with cutting-edge international contemporary artists.

These include a series of paintings by world class Street artist Pegasus, an exclusive limited-edition print by David Bowie’s album cover artist Terry Pastor, light art and paintings by British conceptual artist Naomi Wallens, and an elaborate collage piece by Las Vegas street artist You Killed Me First.

Speaking ahead of the event this November, Scarlet Page said: "I am deeply honoured to showcase my work, hosted by The Art Hound Gallery, alongside such extraordinary artists at Manchester Art Fair. Celebrating thirty years as a photographer, it's a privilege to reflect on the intimate moments I've captured of some of the world’s greatest musicians.”

Natasha Dawn, Creative Director at The Art Hound Gallery, added: “I could not be more pleased to bring the work of Scarlet Page, one of the greatest Rock ‘n’ Roll photographers of all time, and the art that she inspires to Manchester Art Fair.

“At Art Hound we like doing things the old school way and showing our extensive breadth of work in person.  Manchester Art Fair presents the perfect opportunity for us to do so, and to a new and established audience.  We are looking forward to introducing visitors to the work of Scarlet Page, Terry Pastor, and Las Vegas street artist You Killed Me First.”

Sophie Helm, Director of Manchester Art Fair, concluded: “Scarlet is widely recognised as one of the greatest music photographers of all time.  We are immensely proud to have her join us at this year’s Manchester Art Fair and to provide art and music enthusiasts with the opportunity to hear from Scarlet on some of her most memorable photoshoots and collaborations of the last three decades.  It promises to be a highly sought after event.”

Scarlet Page in Conversation can be enjoyed at Manchester Art Fair this November 16, hosted in Central 5, in the main entrance of the acclaimed event, from 13:00-13:45.  Her work, including never-before-seen images from her archive and collaborations with some of the world’s most exciting established and up-and-coming contemporary artists, can be seen throughout the three-day event at The Art Hound Gallery on stand 410.

Page is one of a number of high-profile Art Talks to be staged at Manchester Art Fair.  Hear from internationally renowned figurative artist Mark Demsteader on his journey from Manchester butcher to best-selling artist from 14.15 to 15.00 on November 16, and Dominic Bilton (The Whitworth), Sarah Joy-Ford (independent artist and scholar), and MT Hutchinson (writer and curator) from 11.30-12.15 on November 17, when the trio will discuss the importance of the publication (Un) Defining Queer on museum practice.

Further talks include that of Manchester businessman and author Andy Spinoza on how art and culture shaped Manchester, and that of former Hacienda resident DJ, broadcaster and author Dave Haslam on his latest book Adventure Everywhere: ‘Pablo Picasso’s Paris Nightlife’.  They can be enjoyed on November 17th from 12.30 to 13.15 and 13.45 to 14.30 respectively, with book signings to follow.  For the full Art Talk schedule including signings visit manchesterartfair.co.uk/events/art-talk.
